About

Warren Boone, MD

Dr. Boone completed residency training in Emergency Medicine (EM) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He founded KetaMed in Los Angeles in 2021, and he continues to serve as Ketamed’s lead physician and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Edit Health appointed Dr. Boone to the post of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in 2022. KetaMed delivers concierge intravenous ketamine therapy, and Edit treats depression, anxiety and PTSD with sublingual ketamine and virtual psychedelic journeys. Dr. Boone keeps his emergency medicine skills sharp by pulling occasional shifts at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, a busy community emergency room serving Los Angeles’ western San Fernando Valley.

Prior to moving to Southern California with his wife and young son, Dr. Boone’s spent time in academic and community trauma and non-trauma centers in South Carolina, with a brief stent in a trauma center in Texas. He is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), a member of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists and Practitioners (ASKP3), a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and licensed in multiple states.

Dr. Boone has long administered ketamine for sedation and pain relief in emergency practice, but his interest in ketamine’s contribution to mental health germinated just as the pandemic appeared on the horizon. He made note of his own improved well-being following use of psychedelics and connected that with a lifelong desire to help people live better lives. After a dive into the literature and the current state of ketamine practice, he emerged with a conviction to be part of the burgeoning movement.

When he’s not treating patients or spending time with his family, Dr. Boone pursues a host of athletic and creative interests. Leo Carillo is his home surf break in Malibu, and he mountain bikes, trail runs and hikes the trails that crisscross the Santa Monica mountains and West LA. He’s sharpening his skills on the links and tennis courts, and he enjoys photography, DJing and adding his occasional two cents to Substack.
